All-America City and Coastal Bend represented at 2006 Texas Girl’s Scholastic Chess Tournament

The girl next door could be one of the many who represented Coastal Bend at the 2006 Texas Girl’s Scholastic Chess Tournament held this past Saturday & Sunday in Brownsville, Texas. Local chess players at the all-girl tournament included students from Magee Intermediate in Calallen, Central Catholic Elementary, Robert Wilson Elementary, St. Patrick School, Windsor Park Elementary, Baker Middle School and King High School among the 150 participants from throughout the state. Competitors from the Dallas, Houston, Brownsville, San Benito, Sharryland, and many other schools throughout the valley attended the two-day 2006 Texas Girl’s Scholastic Chess Tournament. Grand Master Susan Polgar made a special appearance at the 2006 Texas Girl’s Chess Tournament.
