Is going to apply for Tax Exempt status from Texas—sales tax, et cet.
George mentioned signature authority needs to be accomplished at the First National Bank for all new officers and possibly returning officers. He will look into this and get back to the other officers. An invoice for trophies for the Grades tournament was paid. It was resolved that the A&M Table Tennis club should receive $150 for their assistance with the last tournament held there, and a check was cut. Affiliate fees were paid for both USCF and Texas Chess Federation.
George mentioned that an archive is needed for the web site with past flyers. There was some discussion about preparation of flyers and who was going to be doing that preparation.
Bob mentioned efforts needed to begin soon for the state tournament bid.
George announced that $22,563.64 remains in the First National Bank, and that there is another money market account in the accountant’s office.
George reviewed status of several committees mentioned in the bylaws and it was resolved that further action could be taken at a regular OCBCF meeting. However, the following individuals volunteered on certain committees: Bob James (TD Committee and possibly Trophy Committee, which could be consolidated); Eddie (Publicity and Historical); Chris (Finance); Equipment (George). Eddie is working on a newsletter and Ken M. will assist, in addition to other volunteers sought. The Concessions committee will be eliminated.
Beginner’s tournament: Cris DeLeon is the contact person, 883-3930, or deleon_daniel@sbcglobal.net. George will be the chief TD.
