Minutes of the OCBCF General Membership

February 4, 2007

Location: St. Patrick Church, Corpus Christi, TX 2PM

Present: Anita De Ases?, George Tintera, Elma Salazar, Rosa Gonzalez, Bill Sheeler, Randy Ramirez, Eddie Rios, and Norma Ochoa

I. Approval of Minutes

Norma Ochoa presented the october 2006 and January 2007 minutes for approval. Mr. Wheeler moved for the approval of the minutes with minor changes. Elma Salazar seconded; motion passed.

II. New Business

George Tintera stated that the Early Childhood Development Center lcoated on the A&M Corpus Christi campus is forming a chess club. The club will be organized by Dr. Marroquin with the assistance of Charlene Tintera.

III. Old Business

a. Incorporation Status - Reinstatement request has been approved by the Secretary of State.

b. IRS - Notice was received that our account would be adjusted and a check was issued to the OCBCF for $698.63.

c. Website Space - articles will be taken to A&M copyright center to clear uses. Caller-Times said no to reprinting their articles.

d. Texas Scholastic Championship in Dallas - Elma Salazar presented three quotes from local bus lines. A general discussion was held with various questions being raised. Fun Time Tours appeared to be the best choice requiring at least 57 participants paying $60 per seat. A $100 deposit would be required, which Ms. Salazar would cover and be used toward her team's participation. She would be refunded the deposit, should we not have sufficient participation. Norma moved to allow Elma to decide on which bus service would be best choice based upon price and return date and that the OCBCF cover the difference should participation be insufficient. Mr. Rios seconded the motion; motion passed. Mr. Tintera offered to manage the individual reservations on a first come, first serve basis and requiring a 1 week cancellation. Checks would be made payable to OCBCF. Mr. Tintera also stated that he would ask Augie Rivera to develop a liability waiver to protect the OCBCF.

IV. Financial Report

a. Check from Wynn Seale's tournament received.

V. Upcoming Tournaments

a. Banquette - Regional tournament currently has 150 players; no on-site registration will be allowed. General discussion was held about the tournament.

The next OCBCF General Membership meeting will be held on February 25, 2007 at 2 PM at the St. Patrick Church Parish Hall.

Meeting was adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
