The meeting was called to order by Augie Rivera at 2:05 pm.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved with a correction.
Treasurer's Report
Chris Villarreal provided a statement through Ninfa) showing income of $1102 and expenses of $402 for the month of October. He will contact UBS about transferring funds from the money market account there to a savings account with our current bank. He will contact the officers about plans for the transfer.
Pending Business
- Details for the Share Your Christmas Tournament at Flour Bluff are still being worked out, but a flier will be posted this evening.
- The Coastal Bend Championships will be held at Seashore Middle Academy on April 9.
- (TD's). Brad Kincaid were interested in becoming Club TD's. He will apply for his USCHESS membership and then get a Club TD application from http://main.uschess.org/component/option,com_uscf_dirlist/Itemid,412/ .
- Augie Rivera confirmed that we have engaged the services of a CPA.
- Ninfa will purchase the 12 t-shirts at $10 to $12 each for TD's. The color would be the very distinctive and noticeable lime green.
New Business
- There was no new business.
Public Comment
- President Augie Rivera noted that Eddie Rios has been active with tournaments serving other chess needs, but the OCBCF is still predominantly serving the needs for scholastic chess. He thanked those working with the OCBCF for their worked and encouraged them to recruit players for the Region Tournament to be held in April.
Next Meeting
- The next meeting was not discussed, but it will be held on Sunday, December 12 at 2 PM unless otherwise announced.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:40 PM.
