Minutes of the OCBCF General Membership
September 9, 2006
Location: 3009 Topeka, Corpus Christi, 2PM
Present: Rose Gonzalez, Ken Muir, Ninfa Villarreal, Chris Villarreal, George Tintera, R. Ramirez, Wesley Anderson, Bill Wheeler, Lucy James, Bob James, Norma Ochoa, Ping Tintera, Judy Winston and Elma Salazar
I. New Business/Old Business
George requested on Eddie Rios' behalf for a more centralized location for OCBCF. Ninfa and Chris Villarreal offered their home in Calallen.
Ken Muir moved that Flour Bluff grades K-3 through 4th grade be counted as one team although K-3, 1st and 2nd are on separate campuses than 3rd and 4th grade. Ninfa seconded and motion carried.
Augie Rivera stated that he has not yet heard from Ed Parker regarding 501(c)3 status.
Discussion was held regarding USCF Rule Change 15A stating that a player must first make a move, then notate. Organizations have until January 2009 to discuss locally. Question was raised whether rule should only apply to electronic scoresheets.
Augie Rivera will handle updating vendor form.
Discussion was help to develop form to require volunteer background checks. Augie River will develop form and present draft soon.
II. Tournaments: Beginners, Fall Tournament
General discuss was held regarding Beginners Tournament and Calallent tournaments being held in September.
Next Meeting was scheduled for October 1 at the home of Augie Rivera, 426 Cape Cod at 2 PM (980-0982).
