2006 Flour Bluff Scholastic Chess Tournament Challenging Young Minds Through Chess February 18, 2006 Flour Bluff Primary School, Flour Bluff Hosted by Flour Bluff PTA (OCBCF assisted)
WHAT: United States Chess Federation (U.S.C.F.) Rated Tournament. 5-Round Swiss in 4 Sections: Primary (K-3), Elementary (4-5/6), Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12)
Time Controls: G/30 (per side) with 5 second time delay. Bring your own clock.
WHERE: Flour Bluff Primary School, 2505 Waldron Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78412
WHO: All students grades K through 12, first 350 entries only. Students who register for sections above their grade level play as individuals only and are not eligible for team trophies.
COST: $15.00 registration. USCF membership required ($13 for Economy Scholastic [under 15 years old without magazine], $19 for Scholastic [under 15 with magazine], or $25 for Youth [ages 15-19]). Add appropriate USCF fees to registration OR show proof of current membership for each player. For players from Region VII with financial hardship, OCBCF will pay NEW USCF membership.
REGIST.: Registration must be received by February 11, 2005. NO ONSITE REGISTRATION.
ROUNDS: Round 1 starts at 9:30. Please arrive by 9:00 to check in. Following rounds will be at: 11:00, 12:45, 2:15, 3:45. Raffle to follow last round immediately preceding trophies.
FOOD: A food concession will be available.
PRIZES: Trophies 1-10th, medals 11-20th, participation ribbons to all players in primary and elementary! Teams 1-8 Primary and Elementary, 1-5 MS and HS. Awards presentation at 5:00.
